Enjoy Life with Your Wife!
“Enjoy life with the wife whom you love, all the days of your vain life that he has given you under the sun, because that is your portion in life and in your toil at which you toil under the sun.”Ecclesiastes 9:9 ESV
If Solomon’s quill represented his view of life, he seemed to write with the jaded ink of bitterness of soul when he wrote Ecclesiastes. Still, deep wisdom can be found tangled among his cynicism.
For example, although he seems to view life as meaningless, his encouragement to “enjoy life with the wife whom you love” is rich with wisdom.
This week I celebrate twenty five years of marriage to my wife. Wow! I thought only old people had silver anniversaries, but apparently not!
As pastors and leaders who constantly invest our lives into people, Carrie and I are often reminded that, although we sincerely love people and want to lay our lives down for them, our relationship with one another is the one we must prioritize above all others.
If we don’t get our marriage relationship right, every other relationship will suffer.
My plan, as I approach the next twenty five years and more, is to enjoy life with my wife whom I love more than any other on earth.
Happy 25 Years to two of Gods most humble and mighty servants. Celebrate!!
Congratulations on 25 years of happiness together. Wishing you many more years of happiness together. You two deserve it! Your marriage is a beautiful example of what God intended a marriage to be. Carrie loves and submits to you, and you love her as Christ loves His church. Thanks for living your life as an example to others. You offer people hope in their marriage and their lives. Love you both!
Congrats to you!! Your love is so obvious and such a breath of fresh air!
Muy Bueno, mi amigo! Well spoke.
