You Have Authority Over Satan
Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you. (Luke 10:19 ESV)
Having been sent out on ministry assignment, over 70 of Jesus’ disciples returned, declaring, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us!”
Jesus responded (I think with a smile), recalling the moment when satan was hurled “like lightning” out of heaven. Satan is no match for God – it’s not even a fight.
As for us, we live in a world deeply affected by satan and his demon forces. Sin, sickness, poverty, depression, and depravity all stem from the ruler of the darkness of this world, and spiritual wickedness in high places.
As believers we must know and walk in the authority that has been given to us. We are not mere humans – we are sons and daughters of the Most High God! No weapon formed against us shall prosper! We are more than conquerors through Jesus Christ our Lord!
Whatever you are facing, whatever the battle you are in, Jesus Himself declares to YOU today:
Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you.
Father,
Today I fight.
And today I win.
Thank You for giving me the victory!
