Every Driver Needs a Spotter

Everyone needs someone they can trust.  There are times when we are blinded by circumstances or deceived by lies. Such a cloud of smoke can haze our perspective and disorient our vision. In those times we need someone to trust, someone whose voice can lead us through times of uncertainty.  Here in NASCAR country we understand this kind of trust. One of the key members of any race team is the spotter. The spotter is nowhere near the actual car during a race; he/she is positioned high above the race track in… Read More

Your Diligence Will Be Rewarded

Blessed is everyone who fears the Lord, who walks in his ways! You shall eat the fruit of the labor of your hands; you shall be blessed, and it shall be well with you. (‭Psalm‬ ‭128‬:‭1-2‬ ESV) Few things are as satisfying as experiencing the rewards of your own work. Standing back and looking at the bright, shiny car you just washed and waxed, seeing the straight lines and perfectly trimmed grass of your lawn after a day of mowing, smelling the clean scent of your home after hours of chores –… Read More

Thoughts From a Dad Who Just Moved His Daughter to College

Yesterday we moved our daughter into her college dorm. Over 4,000 freshmen are attending Liberty University this Fall, and they all moved into their dorms on the same day! Traffic was bumper to bumper over the entire campus, but the Liberty Student-Leaders were stationed to direct traffic, answer questions, and even to carry all of the luggage! Why You Can Trust God’s Timing

But do not overlook this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance. (2 Peter 3:8, 9 ESV) The passing of time is consistent. A second is always a second; a minute always lasts one minute. Time is life’s metronome. Throughout history man has walked with the same cadence… Read More

When Is the Last Time You Were at REST?

And I gave them my Sabbath days of rest as a sign between them and me. It was to remind them that I am the Lord, who had set them apart to be holy. (Ezekiel 20:12 NLT) Ezekiel prophesied in a day when God’s people were living in complete rebellion against God. Through Ezekiel’s words and actions God called out to His people, warning them of the self-destructive path they were on. Amidst the warnings, God also gave Israel hope. If they would turn back to God, He would deliver them, redeem… Read More
